About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage capital planning, reporting and optimisation across 10 subsidiaries in 9 African markets
- Review and challenge entity capital plans, escalating material movements, emerging risks and capital adequacy concerns
- Consolidate subsidiary capital plans for monthly actual reporting and forecasting cycles
- Produce monthly management information and analytics for capital adequacy monitoring
- Monitor capital utilisation, capital use, returns profiles and performance against approved plans
- Prepare and present capital management reports to treasury, risk, capital management and other governance committees
- Maintain capital management reporting, dashboards and analysis
- Monitor capital adequacy positions, foreign currency risks and emerging risks affecting subsidiary resilience
- Support Country ALCOs, ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution Planning, stress testing and ACS buffer-setting activities
- Review Single Borrower Limit excess requests and surplus capital retention proposals
- Manage dividend payment timelines, approvals and cashflow coordination
- Support recapitalisation activities through capital instruments and equity injections
- Analyse and recommend improvements to return on equity, capital efficiency and balance sheet optimisation
- Conduct peer analysis and benchmarking
- Coordinate Cost of Equity setting and monitor returns against Cost of Equity hurdles
- Collaborate on regulatory capital submissions, reconciliations, sign-offs and BA610 capital reporting
- Build relationships with Treasury, Finance, Risk and Business stakeholders
- Enhance capital management frameworks, methodologies and reporting capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related quantitative discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Banking, Treasury, Capital Management, Finance or Regulatory Reporting
- Strong understanding of Basel capital frameworks and banking regulations
- Experience in management reporting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and management information tools
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and governance committees
- Understanding of banking operating structures, capital allocation and financial resource management
- Knowledge of Regulatory Capital and Basel III and IV
