About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Achieve sales goals within the assigned territory by building customer relationships, delivering compliant product education, and driving appropriate patient access
  • Promote Acadia products to healthcare professionals in person and virtually with clinical, disease-state, and reimbursement information
  • Develop and execute territory business plans using market data, customer insights, and quarterly action plans
  • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections using advanced dialogue and selling skills
  • Tailor approved sales aids, clinical reprints, and brand resources to customer needs
  • Partner with managed markets, operations, sales training, marketing, and other internal colleagues
  • Provide guidance on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution channels; liaise on access-related issues
  • Track and report sales activities, expenses, and customer interactions
  • Represent Acadia at conferences, exhibits, trainings, and required meetings
  • Mentor and train new sales specialists and contribute to cross-functional projects and field strategic insights
  • Work in a highly regulated environment using professional judgment, creativity, and data-driven decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in the life sciences preferred
  • Executive level requires a minimum of 12 years of healthcare sales, including at least 3 years in complex or account-based selling environments
  • Deep understanding of neuroscience disease states, Acadia products, and local/regional market dynamics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual engagement platforms such as Zoom and WebEx
  • Strong grasp of payer dynamics, including Part D and specialty pharmacy/hub distribution
  • Demonstrated advanced selling skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen
  • Proven success influencing diverse HCP audiences across multiple care settings
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and deliver consistently high results
  • Must reside within the territory or within 30 miles of its border
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; eligibility to drive a company vehicle
  • Ability to meet significant travel requirements, including driving, overnight stays, and air travel
  • Must comply with vaccination requirements for HCP office access, long-term care facilities, and medical conferences
  • Ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required
  • Must be within reasonable proximity to a major airport depending on territory needs
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
