About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide specialized educational assistance under the general supervision of the Principal
Support classroom teachers with instructional activities, small-group work, and one-on-one student support
Assist students with technology, computer-based learning programs, assignments, projects, and grade-appropriate work
Reinforce lessons and support accommodations or modifications in IEPs, 504 plans, or instructional support plans
Work with students on academics, social skills, character education, and behavioral needs
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, breaks, and non-classroom activities
Support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide behavior systems
Assist with lesson assessments and collect or document academic and behavioral data
Support students with physical, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive educational environment
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents
Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information
Complete required paperwork and assigned training, including Safe Schools training
Follow school safety plans, rules, and guidelines
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card required
Maturity and patience required
Ability to support students academically and emotionally
Ability to identify and refer situations to the Principal as needed
Accuracy, thoroughness, and quality monitoring
Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing student demands, and handle unexpected events
Consistent attendance and punctuality
Ability to follow instructions, respond to leadership direction, and accept feedback
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, reach, and sit
Ability to move quickly in response to student needs
Ability to physically restrain a student when necessary for safety
Willingness and ability to work in a classroom or school environment
