About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support new and returning students and families through onboarding and completion of required tasks
  • Maintain weekly open office hours/help sessions for new students and families
  • Make welcome calls in coordination with homeroom teachers
  • Follow up on non-completion items for new students
  • Identify issues and collaborate with departments and vendors for prompt resolution
  • Participate in the Admissions Counseling process, including reviewing transcripts, assisting with course selection, and answering questions about the school program
  • Develop plans with school administration to address barriers to attendance, academic, and behavioral goals
  • Provide research-based strategies and resources to students and parents
  • Facilitate individual and group training/support to increase academic achievement
  • Check in with students on class progress and accountability for academic, attendance, engagement, and behavioral goals
  • Partner with teachers and parents to evaluate student progress and implement objectives
  • Conduct parent and student conferences in person and by phone
  • Prepare for and/or attend student gatherings
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, progress, needs, and academic support
  • Participate in and coordinate professional development activities
  • Collaborate with school leadership and national teams on re-enrollment activities and family sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel and attend face-to-face events several times per year for in-person state testing and student events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Missouri residency required
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience working as a teacher, tutor, counselor, or mentor to youth
  • Prior marketing experience including social media, events, and communications
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills
  • Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Ability to work with a distributed workforce and clientele
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks
