About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the educational and behavioral goals of students, especially students with Individualized Education Programs
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities
- Assist with classroom intervention strategies and modify general education curricula as necessary
- Assist students with regular class assignments
- Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction
- Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives
- Work toward student achievement, culture, and state-specific achievement goals
- Use research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues
- Serve as case manager for a designated set of students
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders about students’ academic and social-emotional growth
- Take on cross-team assignments and projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Open to residents of Ohio
- Current Ohio Intervention Specialist License (preferred)
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting (preferred)
- Education is optional according to the posting metadata
