About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet members and potential members, responding to inquiries on basic credit union products and services
  • Resolve member problems where possible and refer complex issues to the appropriate person or department
  • Process daily business banking transactions and administrative tasks
  • Refer members to appropriate staff members and departments
  • Open and maintain business memberships and accounts
  • Set up online banking and troubleshoot issues
  • Prepare bank confirmations
  • Administer and process term deposits
  • Solicit new members and foster business development through service excellence, product knowledge and teamwork
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Business Loan department
  • Process required reports and documentation accurately and meet deadlines
  • Manage member and branch-staff relationships on behalf of the credit union
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to policies and procedures regarding risk management, confidentiality, security and fraud prevention
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational and department objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Business Administration or other post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to identify and willingness to act upon sales and service opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
  • Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
  • Proficient computer skills
