About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Preparation and management of taxation compliance for ITR, CTR, TRT, FBT, BAS and PTR
  • Preparation of detailed CGT calculations and Division 7A workings
  • Independent development of tax planning strategies for complex advisory matters
  • Summarising client queries in neat and concise lists for other team members to clarify with clients
  • Reviewing cloud-based bookkeeping (Xero and MYOB) to ensure data integrity
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal firm processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years’ experience working with Australian tax law and in a public practice environment
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce, or a related field
  • A CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong technical tax knowledge
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Xero and related cloud-based accounting ecosystems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, commercial mindset with a drive to help clients succeed
