About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow profitable sales with current and new Emery Jensen customers in Maryland and Delaware
  • Deliver annual sales and profit objectives through a strategic sales plan
  • Engage retailers and increase the Emery Jensen customer base within a defined geographic territory
  • Execute and implement new programs at the store level
  • Represent Emery Jensen professionally and ethically in day-to-day activities
  • Develop and foster relationships with key decision makers
  • Organize and prioritize weekly customer visits
  • Maintain working knowledge of the territory and new and existing business
  • Communicate successes and challenges to the Emery Jensen Leadership Team
  • Work with Sales Support, the Care Center, and internal business partners to resolve customer issues and questions
  • Collaborate with Emery Jensen team members to share ideas and sales successes
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding travel, entertainment, vehicle, and other expenses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of business-to-business sales experience preferred
  • Hardware sales experience is a plus
  • Excellent listening and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, including developing and implementing sales growth plans
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Extensive travel required, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred
  • Preferred residence in the Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD metro areas
  • Must be authorized to work without employment visa sponsorship; position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
