About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead ACI’s earned media program across assigned regions and build journalist relationships
  • Secure coverage in priority outlets and report against placement, message and interview targets
  • Develop media plans and direct regional agencies
  • Maintain engagement with journalists, executives and priority industry events
  • Source, secure and prepare spokespeople for interviews, panels, podcasts and bylines
  • Serve as regional communications lead within ACI’s global crisis and incident response framework
  • Maintain crisis materials, escalation paths and spokesperson readiness
  • Coordinate with Legal, Security, Product, account teams, Investor Relations, Compliance and Public Affairs on issues and communications
  • Develop regional narratives and message strategies
  • Advise regional leadership and senior executives through media training, briefing and message development
  • Lead communications for regional priorities and assigned business segments
  • Support industry analyst relations and regional opinion leader engagement
  • Support regulatory and public affairs engagement through approved channels
  • Write and edit press releases, pitches, bylines, executive commentary, talking points and customer-facing language
  • Use approved AI tools for research, media intelligence, analysis, drafting and editing, with independent verification
  • Protect confidential, customer, employee and material nonpublic information
  • Ensure translated materials receive qualified native-speaker review
  • Work with the global digital team to amplify earned coverage and executive appearances
  • Own tiered regional strategy across priority markets and extend reach beyond the home market
  • Manage regional agencies, freelancers, vendors, budget and performance
  • Evaluate and report program performance
  • Adhere to corporate policies and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10 or more years of relevant communications experience, including leadership of multi-market or regional programs
  • Demonstrated media relations results and journalist relationship-building experience
  • B2B communications experience with complex enterprise stories
  • Enterprise software communications experience
  • Crisis and issues management experience
  • Senior executive communications experience
  • Corporate PR experience
  • Industry analyst relations and opinion leader engagement
  • Digital and social media experience
  • Responsible use of AI tools for research, analysis and drafting, including verification and confidentiality judgment
  • International experience across multiple countries and cultures
  • Knowledge of payments, banking, financial infrastructure, fintech or regulated enterprise technology
  • Working knowledge of the regional payments media landscape
  • Working proficiency with Muck Rack or equivalent, media intelligence, monitoring, collaboration and project management platforms, and Microsoft 365
  • English fluency required
  • Experience managing localization and professional translation across multiple markets
  • Additional languages relevant to assigned regions are a strong advantage
  • Preferred: MBA or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Preferred: experience supporting communications for a publicly listed company, regulated financial institution or critical infrastructure provider
  • Preferred: payments, banking or financial technology company or sector agency experience
  • Preferred: communications experience in more than one covered market
