About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own a platform domain end to end, including architecture, reliability, and roadmap
- Architect resilient, multi-tenant platform services
- Lead design and implementation of golden-path tooling and measure developer productivity impact
- Set reliability targets and error budgets
- Lead incident response and blameless postmortems
- Architect AI-ready infrastructure including GPU/inference capacity, model-serving, or vector infrastructure
- Champion AI-assisted engineering practices and build AI-assisted tooling into golden paths
- Design and enforce security and compliance controls, including policy-as-code and tenant isolation
- Mentor platform engineers and associates
- Lead design reviews and represent the domain’s technical perspective to platform teams and stakeholders
- Resolve technical conflicts through technical reasoning
- Reduce toil and defects through automation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to corporate policies, including the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Work with Gen AI infrastructure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, service mesh, and networking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems, Software Engineering or a similar subject
- 8+ years experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles
- Experience owning a platform domain or major technical capability independently
- Strong critical thinking and ability to evaluate technical trade-offs
- Strong systems thinking
- Applied knowledge of SaaS, cloud-native architecture, Linux, networking, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience designing and operating resilient, multi-tenant, cloud-native platform services
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, including production operations, scaling, and workload management
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or equivalent
- Strong experience with modern CI/CD practices, pipeline architecture, and golden-path tooling
- Experience designing observability capabilities using logs, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and service-health indicators
- Experience implementing security, governance, or compliance controls in an enterprise or regulated environment
- Ability to lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, and provide technical direction without formal authority
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading incident response, problem investigation, or post-incident reviews for production platform services
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Ireland on a full-time basis
- Position does not offer sponsorship for employment visa status or work permit
- Preferred: Experience owning architecture, reliability, and technical roadmap for a platform domain
- Preferred: Experience designing internal developer platforms, self-service capabilities, or reusable golden paths
- Preferred: Advanced Kubernetes/OpenShift features, policy-as-code, tenant isolation, DevSecOps, service mesh, multiple cloud providers, FinOps, AI-assisted engineering, regulated-industry platforms, and mentoring experience
