About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned customer business in a defined marketing area
  • Increase sales and market share of represented brands while earning profit for manufacturers and Acosta
  • Deliver principals’ volume, share, merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving goals
  • Communicate principals’ priorities across sales, technology, marketing, and retail teams
  • Report to the General Manager or Team Leader
  • Develop and present Acosta introductions to new principals
  • Build and maintain relationships with principals and customers
  • Coordinate market visits, key account calls, product introductions, selling drives, and contests
  • Develop conceptual sales presentations aligned with principals’ objectives
  • Provide feedback on strategies and selling programs
  • Maintain account distribution information and review market pricing and competitive activity
  • Manage personal skill development and share customer/manufacturer information
  • Follow client procedures, manage promotional plans and fund balances, and monitor financial deductions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven track record in sales; preferably with a food broker or national company
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales skills
  • Ability to analyze sales and marketing information for effective sales presentations
  • Proficient in software packages used to support the sales function
  • Willing to travel
