About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage Retail Coverage Merchandisers and Lead Merchandisers in the assigned geographic area
- Interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and support associates
- Manage performance, career development, conflicts, and personnel issues
- Develop understanding of the company business model, client and customer expectations, and work processes
- Spend at least 10% of time working in-store
- Manage assigned work to completion, on time, and with high-quality results
- Review project details, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Assign work, monitor progress, audit work, answer questions, solve problems, and adjust resources
- Ensure delivery of required materials, supplies, and equipment
- Optimize selling effectiveness in assigned territories
- Identify training needs and system or process improvements
- Partner with store personnel and the team to achieve merchandising excellence
- Communicate schedules, changes, goals, and expectations
- Alert management to unsafe acts or conditions
- Ensure company policies, equipment maintenance, expense reporting, and activity reporting are followed
- Communicate territory responsibilities to the MEI admin team
- Use MEI and other technology to communicate retail priorities and coverage analyses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate degree is preferred and/or equivalent management experience
- Some college with prior management/supervisory experience and a minimum of 2+ years industry experience
- Prior sales agent, retail, customer service or reset responsibility
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision making and leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility to changing work environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid transportation and ability to drive a car for extended periods
- Ability to sit for extended periods, typically 6+ hours per day
- Ability to use a computer, including keyboard and mouse, for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift and carry typically 20+ pounds
- Ability to reach, bend, or stoop occasionally
- Ability to maintain focus and attention for long periods
- Ability to follow clear directions
- Ability to perform repetitive motions consistently throughout the day
