Design and build tools powering care coordination for healthcare providers and community organizations
Implement well-specified features with guidance from senior engineers
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code supporting reliability and scalability
Contribute to responsive web applications and progressive web apps
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team ceremonies
Write and maintain automated tests
Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver user-focused solutions
Document code, specifications, and workflows
Learn and apply prompt engineering, AI-assisted development tools, and automation frameworks
Contribute across the full development lifecycle, from solution design and production coding to system quality improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Applicants must reside within MA, IN, or TX
Minimum of a High School Diploma with an equivalent of 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
3+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
Experience working effectively within Agile/Scrum teams
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to learn new technologies, adapt to feedback, and continuously improve technical skills
Experience with Ruby on Rails, Ruby Sinatra, or Node.js/Fastify
Frontend development experience with React, Svelte, and modern JavaScript
Experience building scalable responsive web applications and progressive web apps using HTML/CSS
Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and web services
Familiarity with relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or EdgeDB
Experience with background job processing systems such as ActiveJob, Sidekiq, or Resque
Experience using Cursor, MCP agents, LLMs, or Ollama
Strong understanding of prompt engineering concepts
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or CircleCI
Familiarity with development automation and workflow optimization
Strong understanding of separation of concerns, code quality, and maintainable architecture
Experience designing and implementing well-tested features
Familiarity with functionality, performance, and reliability quality domains
Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress, MiniTest, or other automated testing approaches
Experience with Git workflows, pull requests, and collaborative development practices
Healthcare experience preferred
Experience with native web applications is a plus
Experience maintaining Ruby on Rails applications in production environments is nice to have
Experience maintaining PWA and SPA applications is nice to have
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is nice to have
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes/Helm is nice to have
Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP, Brakeman, and sensitive healthcare data/HIPAA awareness is nice to have
Prior experience with healthcare platforms or workflow automation systems is nice to have
