About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support team goals for meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements
- Build relationships with team members, government and company stakeholders, and program management team members
- Complete tactical program assignments and strategic initiatives
- Deliver discovery artifacts, sketches, rough prototypes, wireframes, UX flows, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Support development and communication of milestones and deliver within area of expertise
- Partner with Senior Designers and receive mentorship
- Lead competitive analyses and report results to stakeholders
- Contribute to design libraries with visual design and brand artifacts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate discussions and articulate goals
- Coach and mentor designers by providing actionable feedback
- Develop storytelling skills for compelling artifacts and presentations
- Lead human-centered design processes and deliverables
- Identify risks, communicate them to leadership, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Potentially develop and manage content for highly visible websites or applications within design guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience
- Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
- Progressive experience with design principles and relevant technologies
- Understanding of roles with which they interact and how their work impacts business goals
- Experience with design software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe or other designer tools
- Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and environments
- Knowledge of typography and hierarchy
- Knowledge of human-centered design processes and deliverables in compliance with standards and regulations
- May lead accessibility tasks inclusive of 508 compliance and knowledge of other emerging accessibility standards
