Estimate and complete development tasks, including coding, requirements gathering, and analysis
Practice technical and communication skills to improve context knowledge and mentor junior developers
Assess and diagnose issues with owned systems, prioritizing problem areas across practice areas
Participate in on-call rotations as necessary
Present and write about work for internal and external audiences
Participate in planning sessions and build understanding of major architectures and design patterns
Support recruiting by evaluating homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews
Drive improvements in team engineering processes and practices
Apply understanding of the business, practice interactions, and customer problems
Support scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with leadership guidance
Interact with stakeholders to improve software engineering processes and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional software engineering experience; relevant professional experience may be substituted for education where permitted
Must meet applicable contractual or labor category requirements related to education and professional experience
Advanced-level knowledge in at least one technical discipline, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering
Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production software applications
Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and contributing to scalable, maintainable software solutions
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred: experience across front-end and back-end technologies in a full-stack environment
Preferred: experience designing, building, and maintaining modern web applications and APIs
Preferred: experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
Preferred: experience with back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar languages and frameworks
Preferred: experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices
Preferred: experience in Agile or iterative development environments
Preferred: experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance
Preferred: experience collaborating with clients, product teams, designers, and technical stakeholders
