About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Gather and interpret business and stakeholder requirements and translate them into technical solution designs
Create comprehensive design documentation for technical audiences across multiple teams
Own and deliver data solutions successfully
Collaborate with stakeholders, team members, and cross-functional business teams
Estimate, prioritise, and deliver work in a fast-paced commercial environment
Design and develop scalable, robust, and secure data solutions, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and downstream integrations
Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture colleagues to evolve, operate, and enhance the Data Platform
Drive best practices and continuous improvement aligned with industry standards
Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior colleagues and wider data teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years’ experience delivering data solutions within a commercial environment
Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, preferably AWS; Azure and/or GCP experience beneficial
Strong experience in ETL/ELT methodologies and tools such as Matillion, AWS services, and Python
Experience with modern cloud-based Data Warehouses and Data Platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or equivalent technologies
Advanced SQL expertise, including DML and DDL
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, concepts, and ways of working
Experience producing high-quality technical documentation throughout the full solution delivery lifecycle
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Experience working within fast-paced, cross-functional project delivery environments
Strong planning and estimation skills, with a track record of delivering work to agreed timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
