About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell or oversee the selling of automotive products for repair or distribution to automotive repair shops and other commercial businesses
  • Work with District Leaders, General Managers, and other key personnel to achieve agreed-upon goals for assigned accounts
  • Implement new Commercial Sales programs and support current programs
  • Visit assigned accounts, make sales calls, and develop approaches to position products, services, or ideas
  • Identify and meet the needs of commercial customers
  • Maintain the database of account sales call activity
  • Communicate proactively with Store Team regarding product availability, accuracy, and delivery timelines
  • Provide feedback on competitive information, merchandising suggestions, and other services
  • Partner in developing and retaining Commercial Parts Pros
  • Assist with cleaning, organizing, stocking, POS operation, and truck loading/unloading as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Working knowledge of Advance products and services
  • Working knowledge of the APAL system, including Inventory Management and Commercial account paperwork
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and the traditional automotive aftermarket
  • Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percentage
  • Ability to review and analyze business reports, including profit and loss statements
  • Strategic thinking and ability to analyze issues and options and facilitate change
  • Ability to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally
  • 3–5 years of related selling experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Fleet safety certification
  • ASE certification preferred but not required
