About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the district as its senior leader
  • Grow Retail and Commercial market share
  • Achieve or exceed district sales and profitability goals
  • Ensure commercial customer retention and relationship growth
  • Select, hire, develop, set goals for, coach, engage, and retain General Managers and Core 4 team members
  • Ensure proper staffing levels throughout the district
  • Ensure inventory and operational standards are executed
  • Conduct regular store visits and provide action plans to achieve market potential
  • Teach business acumen through review of profit and loss statements with General Managers
  • Communicate effectively with stores and support staff
  • Foster a respectful and diverse environment
  • Assist the region/area with other functions upon request
  • Perform physical duties including walking, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
  • Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor work and exposure to operational hazards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of store operations and processes
  • ASE P2 certified or ASE-ready equivalent
  • Ability to recruit, select, hire, and develop General Managers and Core 4 team members
  • Ability to execute and train store operational processes, procedures, and team member/customer standards
  • Ability to use and train on testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
  • Speak and write English; Spanish a plus
  • Effective use of Microsoft software; Word and Excel required, PowerPoint preferred
  • Accurate basic math skills
  • Ability to calculate Gross Margin and understand financial documents
  • Ability to understand all facets of the business and integrated operating model
  • Problem-solving and independent issue-resolution skills
  • Strategic thinking, analysis, and change-management skills
  • Ability to delegate and supervise projects
  • Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • 3–5 years of experience managing a team of 10–20 General Managers in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Proven track record meeting sales and gross margin targets in a multi-unit environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license required
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required
