About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal sales goals and help the store achieve its sales goals
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installation
  • Maintain store product and operational standards
  • Perform inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
  • Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
  • Work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor work installing batteries and wiper blades
  • Handle exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock risks, explosives, vibration, and varying weather conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Entry-level sales position supporting DIY business and sales/service objectives
  • Good knowledge of store systems
  • Basic automotive system knowledge and basic parts knowledge
  • Basic ability to source from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers
  • In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes
  • Fleet safety certification preferred
  • Basic driving and navigation ability
  • Ability to use delivery board system
  • Ability to locate and stock parts
  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Experience operating inventory systems and store equipment
  • Parts and automotive system knowledge
  • Experience operating POS and parts lookup systems
  • Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service
  • Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
