About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead operations for a Region encompassing 150–200 Advance Auto Parts stores
  • Partner with Area HR, retail store management recruiting and training, Asset Protection, and other regional leaders to execute company strategies
  • Partner with RVP, SVP of Operations, Operations Support, and Store Support teams to improve procedures, share best practices, and develop innovative solutions
  • Develop annual plans and maintain a one-year outlook for sales growth, budgets, forecasts, business trends, new store site selection and openings, and bench strength
  • Build and maintain high customer-service standards and superior customer experiences
  • Coach District Leaders to improve results and customer service
  • Build high-performing teams through training, development, outside talent acquisition, and low turnover
  • Ensure management teams promote diversity, fairness, respect, performance recognition, candid feedback, and rewards
  • Spend 50–60% of time visiting assigned districts and stores to ensure execution, store conditions, and customer-service expectations
  • Visit competitors to evaluate applicable best practices
  • Support other functions as assigned by Area leaders and upper management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Speak and write English; Spanish is a plus
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Hyperion, and other computer-based tools
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including budgets and P&L management and analysis
  • Knowledge of retail management best practices, including sales, customer service, inventory management, risk reduction, and Human Resources skills
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze issues and options, and manage and facilitate change
  • Ability to delegate and supervise multiple projects throughout the Region
  • Ability to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the Region weekly, with extensive overnight stays
  • 5–10 years of multi-unit management experience in a fast-paced, highly dynamic retail environment
  • Proven track record meeting sales and gross margin targets in a multi-unit environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required
