About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide and coordinate administrative and provider relations support for the Behavioral Health Home program
- Support designated BHH providers through orientation, education, and implementation of contract policies and procedures
- Provide telephone support for incoming BHH queue line calls when needed
- Provide coverage in the absence of the BHH Manager
- Attend program meetings, workgroups, and committee meetings with or on behalf of the BHH Manager
- Take comprehensive meeting notes and prepare, proofread, and distribute meeting minutes
- Support program-related tasks and projects, including provider communications, newsletters, announcements, and educational materials
- Assist with annual provider surveys and training materials
- Coordinate and conduct on-site visits with DMHAS and/or provider staff
- Perform member eligibility verification to support timely enrollment
- Maintain and update the BHH provider master contact list quarterly
- Assist with annual provider credentialing and recredentialing activities
- Communicate with providers, clients, community organizations, state partners, stakeholders, and internal departments regarding program inquiries
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information and follow HIPAA policies and procedures
- Travel within Connecticut to meet program requirements
- Perform other tasks required to support business operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required in social work, public health, or closely related field
- 5 years of administrative or provider relations experience, preferably in a healthcare, behavioral health or insurance-related setting
- Experience in data analysis required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, health promotion, whole person health, integrated care, social divers of health
- Excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to write accurate, easily understood, instruction and documents
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully and effectively in collaboration with internal and external customers such as a network of community-based service providers
- Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and change management opportunities
- Ability to travel within the state to meet program requirements
- Ability to attend required Conflict of Interest, HIPAA, Programs, and/or DMHAS training
- Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/carrying/moving 10–20 pounds
- Regularity and consistency of attendance is essential
