About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare monthly and quarterly grant reporting to various funders
- Establish and maintain grant budgets, financial tracking systems and internal controls
- Prepare monthly deferred revenue and cost settlement reconciliation analyses
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and analyses
- Assist in writing and maintaining financial statement reports
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Analyze grant spending relative to approved budgets
- Analyze allocations and program costs; prepare adjustments
- Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Prepare and post monthly journal and allocation entries
- Maintain accounting records and company accounting procedures and processes
- Comply with GAAP for financial statements
- Record financial information for analysis
- Assist the Controller and CFO with documents and interpretation of financial information
- Advise on procedures and financial management
- Develop procedures to improve efficiency
- Participate in annual budget preparation and track expenditures against approved guidelines
- Assist with audits and taxes
- Assist with account balances and bank statements
- Manage the general ledger and assist with month-end/year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, policies and procedures
- Support the Controller and CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years Non Profit Accounting experience
- 3+ years Grant reporting experience
- 5+ years previous experience as an accountant
- Business Central and CORE experience a plus
- Attends annual Conflict of Interest training
- Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain account balances, financial statements, general ledger and reports
- Advanced technical skills and ability to multitask
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and internet
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Experience with report writer software and databases a plus
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, report writing and GAAP
- Ability to analyze financial records and interpret them for other departments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform physical requirements including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/carrying/moving 10–20 pounds
- Regular and consistent attendance
