About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule and dispatch drivers to meet required transports using the Route Genie App
- Receive urgent and non-urgent calls while operating telephone and computer systems
- Receive last-minute schedule changes and make routing changes in Route Genie
- Work with the Transportation Manager to address service issues
- Maintain logs of calls, cancellations, and no-shows; enter data into spreadsheets and databases
- Process routing and dispatching activities and assign drivers to routes
- Contact drivers about time-sensitive schedule changes
- Answer questions and concerns regarding transportation issues
- Enter new student transportation paperwork
- Log all activities occurring during the shift
- Process same-day and ongoing change requests and student build-outs
- Maintain student schedules using school calendars and student referrals
- Work 7:30 am–3:30 pm and other hours as needed
- Attend annual Conflict of Interest training
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 2+ years of experience in customer service data entry and tracking software systems
- Exceptional communication skills and a strong customer service attitude
- Strong data entry and computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and dispatch software
- Knowledge of grammar and punctuation
- Ability to learn and master the transportation scheduling software system (Route Genie)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond quickly to schedule changes, and meet critical daily deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
