About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the technical win across the sales pipeline
Work with Sales, Senior Leadership, and Delivery Leads to turn opportunities into signed work
Qualify opportunities, shape solutions, build demos, and present them to clients
Guide clients from initial technical conversations to signed Statements of Work as the trusted Databricks expert
Design and document end-to-end data and AI solutions using Azure, Databricks, and related services
Translate business and technical requirements into architecture designs for delivery teams
Apply standards, patterns, and reference architectures
Identify technical risks, record them in project risk registers, and lead mitigation and resolution
Produce design artefacts and present them at architectural forums to engineering teams and senior executives
Shape intelligent data platform projects using Lakehouse architectures for reporting, AI, and analytics
Run discovery workshops with data, analytics, and platform teams
Capture requirements, current state, workloads, governance constraints, and target outcomes
Own technical content for RFP/RFI responses, proposals, architecture diagrams, and Statements of Work
Own technical scope, effort, and delivery risk for opportunities
Run technical pitches, demos, and handle technical and business-value questions
Collaborate with Databricks field teams on joint pursuits and co-selling
Build client relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor
Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes
Hand won opportunities to delivery with complete designs, including scope, assumptions, risks, and estimates

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in technical pre-sales and designing cloud data architectures
Hands-on consulting experience with Azure and Databricks
Working knowledge of data engineering, ML/AI engineering, data governance, and platform design
Experience designing and presenting scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions using established patterns and standards
Track record running discovery, demos, POCs, and RFP responses for complex data and AI deals
Commercial awareness and experience shaping Statements of Work, T-shirt-size estimates, total cost of ownership, and time-to-value assessments
Strong communication and presentation skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders up to C-level
Experience running demos, technical pitches, client workshops, and negotiations
Ability to influence technical and business stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority
Previous consulting experience is required
Databricks Professional certification is required, or equivalent knowledge demonstrated through real project experience
Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are a strong plus
