About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Consult with senior ACH and AAH leadership to assess, problem-solve, and evaluate system issues, barriers, and models of care
  • Lead and/or participate in nursing and interprofessional teams to provide integrated patient care services
  • Develop, review, and revise pediatric nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines to facilitate evidence-based organizational change
  • Analyze clinical data, including quality and safety reports, to determine clinical initiatives involving quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research
  • Participate in planning and developing process changes, training, and education
  • Provide pediatric nursing consultation for initiatives improving pediatric inpatient nursing care and patient outcomes
  • Promote and enlist direct-care nurses and others to organize and implement planned change
  • Participate in planning and designing continuing professional development related to pediatric nursing
  • Promote implementation of evidence-based pediatric nursing practice
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to monitor, evaluate, and facilitate quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care through evidence-based practice, innovation, and research
  • Seek research and evidence-based practice dissemination opportunities through publications or presentations at conferences
  • Assist and/or mentor others in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, innovation, and research activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of Masters of Science in Nursing degree as an APRN
  • Minimum of 4 years in area of specialty as APRN
  • 5 years of RN experience preferred
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
  • Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required
  • National pediatric nursing certification from an accredited body
  • Current Illinois APRN License
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience leading remote teams using video and audio conferencing technology
  • Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record
  • Ability to work varying hours to meet organizational needs
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines
  • Travel may be required
