About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess health status using advanced physical examination and medical history skills
- Design individualized health care management plans in collaboration with other health professionals
- Manage health care within protocols agreed upon by physicians and team members
- Identify abnormal findings early and initiate appropriate intervention
- Assess and support cultural, psychosocial, language, and physically challenged needs of the family unit
- Provide health care management within the Nursing Practice Act, Medical Practice Act, and other regulatory guidelines
- Serve as a role model and clinical resource
- Apply critical thinking, interpersonal, prioritization, and concentration skills
- Assess practice needs and develop methods to meet team needs
- Participate in committees and research as appropriate
- Work a hybrid schedule combining in-house call and office days
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of an MSN and graduate level Certified Nurse Midwife Program required
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse required
- Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board required
- Approved to practice as a Nurse Midwife in the state where one works required
- BLS required per policy guidelines
- Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms
- Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds
- Must possess intact sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity
- Must be able to react and perform in stressful situations
- 3 years experience in labor and delivery preferred
