About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct supervision to selected clinical areas
- Assist the practice in delivering health care consistent with policies and procedures
- Divide the workweek between the South Elgin and Huntley offices based on operational and staffing needs
- Oversee and support staff in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care
- Guide care through the nursing process
- Promote safe, therapeutic outcomes aligned with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Lead with purpose, compassion, and boldness within the Advocate Health community
- Collaborate with teams to drive innovation and care improvements
- Contribute to shaping the future of health through care, research, and education
- Provide feedback and insights to improve culture and patient care
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Nurse Licensure
- 2–3 years of previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel between both offices
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
- Ability to lift and support 35 pounds
- Ability to push/pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
- Fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
- Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
- Ability to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation
- Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required
- Protective clothing and equipment must be worn when necessary around chemical and hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable disease
