About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and assist with study participant recruitment sessions
  • Screen, consent, and enroll study participants
  • Collect wearable sensor, activity log, video, and survey data
  • Strategize and send packages containing wearable sensors to participants
  • Communicate instructions and troubleshoot technology with participants
  • Monitor participant adherence to study protocols
  • Take detailed notes and/or lead structured interviews with study participants
  • Organize collected data, typically in REDCap
  • Perform required post-processing steps
  • Communicate data locations to study staff
  • Communicate adverse events to the research team
  • Develop participant-adherence reports for the research team and study sponsors
  • Work in partnership with the research team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in social science, Education, or Public Health; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Training in research methodology, computerized data processing, and/or interviewing techniques
  • CITI certification for Human Subject Research strongly preferred if not already completed
  • Additional training required for accessing Advocate Health electronic health records
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent reading comprehension
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with data collection tools such as REDCap
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Willingness to speak on the phone with study participants
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with multiple studies in parallel
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a research environment
  • Experience in the department to be served
