About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete patient referrals and coordinate with referring and receiving practices and/or departments
  • Coordinate and prepare financial estimates for patients
  • Obtain all required authorizations
  • Direct patients to providers within their insurance plan
  • Review benefits and educate patients on insurance coverage
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and other services with internal and ancillary providers
  • Review schedules and confirm accuracy and proper time allocation
  • Follow up on referrals to ensure no care gaps
  • Travel between NorthEast in Concord, University in Charlotte, and Stanly in Albemarle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Computer experience required
  • Customer service experience required
  • Thorough understanding of insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies preferred
  • Knowledge of medical records software preferred
  • Must be able to sit for long periods and work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
