About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care
- Welcome patients and support their transition into care
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed
- Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver coordinated care
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within 45 days unless determined not required
- Completion of an accredited or approved Practical Nursing program
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
- Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
- Fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures
- Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
- Ability to perform physical safety interventions and verbal de-escalation if needed
- Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective equipment must be used as necessary
