Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, diagnose, and determine or alter treatment and management plans based on age, acuity, and clinical condition
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and therapies
  • Manage conditions using clinical indications, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and risk-benefit assessment
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management counseling and education to patients and families
  • Manage patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and within scope of practice
  • Consult or refer to physicians and other healthcare team members as appropriate
  • Escalate patients needing emergent or specialized care
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
  • Submit professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices
  • Facilitate coordinated care and communication among healthcare team members and health or community agencies
  • Perform office or hospital procedures according to specialty practice, competency, and granted privileges
  • Participate in quality, safety, peer review, performance activities, meetings, committees, and workgroups
  • Participate in education and onboarding of new team members, students, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain and develop clinical and professional skills
  • Maintain productivity, access, face-to-face time, and quality metrics for safe and timely patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice
  • Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire
  • For Illinois practice, active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • No experience required
  • High level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a health care team
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs over the head
  • Ability to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
