About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives
- Maintain Emergency Medical Services or advanced practice licensure, certifications, continuing education, and professional development
- Plan, develop, and facilitate Emergency Medical Services education using adult learning principles
- Provide instruction through on-site training for external customers, online or hybrid/blended delivery, and interactive distance learning
- Collaborate with the EMS Lead Instructor and Emergency Medical Services Community Educator to evaluate, update, and revise program offerings
- Participate in collecting quality improvement data and statistics and complete reports as needed
- Collect and submit attendance records to the Emergency Medical Services coordinator, Community Educator, or designee
- Submit availability to provide instruction for a minimum of 8 classes per quarter and meet directed minimum session requirements
- Work a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week, including a minimum of 2 evenings per month
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Graduate
- Completion of an Emergency Medical Services Provider or advanced practice provider program
- Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic license issued by the state of Wisconsin or the state in which the team member practices, or Current Advanced Practice Provider (RN, PA, etc.) license issued by the state of Wisconsin, or the state in which the team member practices and eligible for reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- American Heart Association BCLS Instructor — Current or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS Provider — Current or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license
- Typically 2 years or equivalent (4000 hours) of experience as a licensed AEMT, Intermediate, Paramedic, or Advanced Practice Provider in pre-hospital emergency care environment
- Previous EMS teaching experience
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills, electronic mail, and software for documents, presentations, and spreadsheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with team members, EMS providers, and physicians
- Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively
- Organization, prioritization, problem-solving, time management, multitasking, coordination, collaboration, delegation, and team-building skills
- Experience with or willingness to learn online learning management systems, high-fidelity simulation, multimedia-based, and emerging technologies
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist and up to 20 lbs over the head
