About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a safe environment and remain with patients to provide the appropriate level of observation as delegated by the Registered Nurse
- Document information required during patient observation
- Perform handoff communication with the Registered Nurse regarding pertinent patient information
- Assist the nursing team in maintaining a ligature-resistant or ligature-free environment
- Notify and update the licensed nurse regarding immediate patient safety, patient care, and staff needs
- Foster positive and professional communication between patients and staff
- Adhere to all policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic Life Support Certification required
- CPI certification required prior to conducting patient observation
- Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms
- Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds
- Must have manual and finger dexterity
- Must have intact sight, hearing, smell, and touch
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- Availability for 7P-7A shifts with rotating weekends
