About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or requesting appointments or information by telephone or in person
  • Provide information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters
  • Enter billing information for patients and payers at the time of service
  • Accurately follow up on missing billing information
  • Uphold practice and medical group standards for accurate and timely medical records
  • Support providers and connect with patients as part of the ambulatory care team
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years related customer service experience
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients
  • Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment and in a crowded or closely shared workspace
  • Exposure to ill patients
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers
  • Must lift up to 35 pounds without help
  • For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist, patient handling equipment is expected with at least one other associate when available
