About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide efficient, effective, quality customer service and practice support through scheduling, coding, registration, and billing
  • Maximize revenues by collecting payment at time of service
  • Enter accurate and up-to-date billing information, including address and insurance coverage, into the patient accounting system
  • Assist clinical staff in maintaining accurate medical records
  • Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or requesting appointments or information by telephone or in person
  • Handle inquiries about tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters
  • Enter patient and payer billing information at time of service
  • Follow up accurately on missing billing information
  • Uphold practice and medical group standards for accurate and timely medical records
  • Support providers, connect with patients, and help ensure a seamless, compassionate experience
  • Float across specialty clinics in the Kenosha, Racine, and Gurnee area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years related customer service experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients
  • Monday-Friday availability between 6:30 am-6:00 pm
  • Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment and in a crowded or closely shared workspace
  • Exposure to ill patients
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers
  • Must lift up to 35 pounds without help
  • For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist, use patient handling equipment with at least one other associate when available
