About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or contacting the clinic by telephone or in person
  • Schedule appointments and provide information about tests, procedures, bills, charges, referrals, and other matters
  • Support providers and connect with patients as part of the ambulatory care team
  • Enter billing information for patients and payers at the time of service
  • Follow up accurately on missing billing information
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records according to practice and medical group standards
  • Rotate between the Mount Prospect and Park Ridge locations
  • Work front desk and back phone line scheduling room
  • Work Monday-Friday eight-hour shifts between 6:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., plus one Saturday per month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years related customer service experience
  • Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients
  • Ability to function in a high-volume, multiple-task environment and crowded or closely shared workspace
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers
  • Must lift up to 35 pounds without help
  • For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when the patient cannot assist, use patient-handling equipment with at least one other associate when available
