About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
- Interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment in a hectic environment
- Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, cash receipting, and arrival/departure desk activities
- Encourage patient use of front-end registration technology
- Enter and maintain confidential patient, insurance, billing, and payment information
- Assist billing functions or direct matters to the appropriate billing office
- Demonstrate proficiency with emergency codes, appropriate responses, and applicable healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- Computer experience required
- Customer relations experience required
- Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
- Front desk practice experience preferred
- Must be able to sit for long periods and work in a fast-paced office environment
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
