About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience
- Provide exemplary interpersonal skills and interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment
- Work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, and arrival/departure desk activities
- Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during registration
- Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient insurance, billing, payment, and other patient information
- Assist billing functions accurately and/or direct matters to the appropriate billing office
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
- Cover one shift per week within a six-week scheduling period, with flexibility for additional hours or days as needed
- Work PRN shifts from 8am-8pm
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- Computer experience required
- Customer relations experience required
- Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
- Front desk practice experience preferred
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment
- Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
- Demonstrates proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
