About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care according to identified needs
  • Manage clients in crisis using appropriate therapeutic skills and assessment techniques
  • Write treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age, and clinical presentation
  • Write discharge plans based on individual client needs and follow through with termination process
  • Collaborate with guardians and community agencies to ensure effective service delivery
  • Complete patient care assignments accurately and provide consistent medical-record documentation of patient care and responses
  • Complete accurate and timely billing information
  • Design, plan, and implement effective patient education
  • Maintain open communication and collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education
  • Full licensure in applicable state required
  • 2 years of clinical experience required
  • CPI and CPR training required for psychotherapists working in an inpatient psychiatric setting
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
  • Ability to work in patient care areas including hospital units, emergency room, individual offices, and conference areas
  • Ability to frequently move between areas, answer pages, and coordinate and communicate with staff across disciplines and agencies
  • Ability to work with potentially combative and hostile patients
