About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
- Document patient history pertaining to specific procedures on physician-submitted requisitions
- Confirm patient identification verbally and by validating proof of identity
- Prepare and administer contrast media as required
- Consult with radiologists and other physicians as necessary
- Select and operate equipment according to procedure demands
- Demonstrate correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
- Maintain records according to departmental standards
- Coordinate daily activities, including examinations and clerical duties
- Perform radiographic examinations under the direction of the Radiologist with general supervision
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility required
- Registered by the ARRT required
- New graduates must be registry eligible and registered within 1 year of hire date
- BLS required per policy guidelines
- 1 year of direct patient care work experience preferred
- Ability to perform radiographic examinations using radiation safety practices
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to assist patients from wheelchairs and stretchers and handle radiographic equipment
- Ability to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel
- Vision and hearing for distances up to 10 feet
- Ability to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity
