About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Document patient history pertaining to procedures on physician-submitted requisitions
  • Confirm patient identification verbally and by validating proof of identity
  • Prepare and administer contrast media as required
  • Consult with radiologists and other physicians as necessary
  • Select and operate equipment according to procedure demands
  • Demonstrate correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
  • Maintain records according to departmental standards
  • Perform radiographic examinations with proficiency using radiation safety practices
  • Coordinate daily examination and clerical activities
  • Travel between MSK OUC sites as needed to ensure coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility required
  • Registered by the ARRT required
  • New graduates must be registry eligible and registered within 1 year of hire date
  • BLS required per policy guidelines
  • 1 year of direct patient care work experience preferred
  • Must be able to consistently work assigned weekday and weekend shifts (5p-9p weekdays; 9a-2p weekends)
  • Must travel to different MSK OUC sites as needed to ensure coverage
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical effort assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers
  • Ability to handle equipment and monitoring supplies
  • Ability to stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel frequently
  • Ability to use hands for power gripping, speed work, and precision
  • Vision and hearing for distances up to 10 feet
  • Ability to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity
