  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Engage patients and families throughout the continuum of care
  • Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team
  • Uphold and promote a culture of safety
  • Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take action as needed
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution
  • Foster team collaboration and appropriate delegation
  • Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications
  • Practice ethical decision-making in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics
  • Delegate appropriately to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation
  • Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed
  • Provide age-appropriate patient care based on growth and development principles and departmental policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in computer functions, email, electronic records, and digital platforms
  • Ability to work 2 x 12-hour shifts per week, 7p-7a, and every other weekend
  • Must be willing to float to Atrium Health Union, Union West, and Anson
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting and supporting 35 pounds and pushing/pulling with 30 pounds of force
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation skills
  • Ability to perform patient safety interventions and respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
