About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum
  • Provide specialized pulmonary clinic care for adult patients with chronic and acute pulmonary diseases
  • Evaluate, treat, and support ongoing management of lung and respiratory conditions
  • Work primarily at the West Allis Clinic
  • Occasionally travel to the Summit Clinic to support staffing needs, including sick-call or PTO coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is preferred
  • Availability to work full-time during the orientation period
  • Ability to work the stated part-time schedule
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
  • Ability to lift and support 35 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a 150-pound sliding transfer with a second person
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, with fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures
  • Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
  • Ability to perform physical safety interventions and verbal de-escalation if needed
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary
