About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Verify physician orders and review patient records before examinations
  • Perform basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols
  • Ensure patient comfort throughout examinations
  • Recognize and document abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocols to support diagnosis
  • Provide physicians with detailed preliminary reports
  • Enter measurement data and final reports into the cardiovascular reporting system
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning according to manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Enter charges into the electronic medical record
  • Work 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays and no call

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP vascular sonography program or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required
  • New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire
  • BLS certification required
  • Competency in ABI
  • Competency in arterial Doppler (no intervention)
  • Competency in carotid (no intervention)
  • Competency in aortic (no intervention)
  • Competency in saphenous vein mapping
  • Competency in exercise ABI
  • Competency in DVT of the upper and lower extremities
  • Eligibility requirements apply to sign-on bonus and relocation assistance
