About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Verify physician's orders and review patient record prior to exam
- Perform basic vascular ultrasound testing according to accredited vascular laboratory protocols
- Ensure patient comfort throughout the exam
- Recognize and document abnormal pathologies according to imaging protocols to support diagnosis
- Provide physicians with a detailed preliminary report
- Enter measurement data and final report into the cardiovascular reporting system
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning according to manufacturer's guidelines
- Enter charges into the electronic medical record
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no holidays, weekends, or call
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of CAAHEP vascular sonography program/or comparable experience with RVT or RVS credentials required
- New graduates must obtain RVT or RVS credential within one year of hire
- BLS certification required
- Competencies in ABI, Arterial Doppler (no intervention), Carotid (no intervention), Aortic (no intervention), Saphenous vein mapping, Exercise ABI, and DVT Upper/Lower extremity required
- Light to moderate physical effort with lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies
- Requires sitting, standing, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling
- Intact sense of sight and hearing required
