About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the core Kotlin/Android interface between Aescape's robot and customers
  • Work with UX designers and robotics experts to communicate body intelligence insights and enable smooth bodywork sessions
  • Collaborate with robotics and backend engineers to translate hardware telemetry into actionable React/Next.js web interfaces for partners and support staff
  • Integrate with Go microservices and own the full request lifecycle from API contract through user-facing state
  • Enforce code quality, testing, and architecture best practices across the frontend codebase
  • Contribute to decisions about state management, navigation, component systems, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Champion AI-assisted development and automated testing tools across the engineering team
  • Iteratively ship product improvements to production and own quality from commit to customer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated proficiency building production Kotlin mobile applications, ideally with Jetpack Compose & Gradle
  • Demonstrated proficiency with modern UX application patterns, including component libraries, form validation, data fetching, and SSR
  • Solid understanding of REST API integration patterns, authentication flows, and client-side state management
  • Experience with mobile release pipelines, CI/CD automation, and multi-environment deployment processes
  • Bias toward action and iterative production shipping
  • Ability to work on-site in a hybrid arrangement, three days per week negotiable, in the NYC office
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • Production Android application experience in Kotlin
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, Android XML Views, Gradle, mobile release pipelines/CI/CD, React/Next.js/TypeScript, or Android on dedicated devices as applicable
