About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and oversee branch personnel
  • Supervise branch operations and ensure efficient day-to-day operation
  • Drive and achieve overall branch sales targets for deposits, investments, loans, bancassurance, banca takaful, credit cards, and business referrals
  • Prevent internal and external fraud and losses
  • Control costs according to budget
  • Ensure staff comply with the Branch Manual, BNM guidelines, regulatory/statutory requirements, and internal control procedures
  • Ensure satisfactory audit ratings and resolve audit findings within specified time frames
  • Monitor timely report submissions
  • Act as BCM Coordinator and perform Business Continuity Plan and Call Tree exercises
  • Act as BUCO Representative, Complaint Liaison Officer, and Branch OSHA Coordinator
  • Ensure regulatory and non-regulatory compliance through coaching
  • Maintain efficient customer service levels and resolve customer complaints within SLA
  • Manage branch resources, including annual leave, attendance, and branch meetings
  • Provide product training and briefings, identify training needs, recruit and develop staff, and conduct coaching
  • Track performance and productivity, including staff appraisals
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments and act as alternate key holder to the vault and self-service terminal
  • Organize or participate in CSR activities within the branch community
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the bank premises and SSL area
  • Perform relief duties when required or in the absence of the ABM
  • Contribute to Head Office special projects and attend relevant training

  • Identify potential staff for succession planning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Professional banking certifications are an added advantage
  • Minimum 5–8 years of banking experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or branch management role
  • Strong experience in retail banking sales, branch operations, and customer relationship management
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing branch profitability
  • Strong understanding of retail banking products and services
  • Sound knowledge of BNM regulations, compliance requirements, and operational risk controls
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Strong business acumen and sales management capabilities
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead a diverse team and drive a high-performance culture
