About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support successful delivery of Affinity Water’s Capital Investment Programme
  • Ensure projects of varying scale are delivered to time, cost, and quality
  • Provide robust governance, proactive coordination, and clear communication
  • Lead and guide the PMO coordination team
  • Submit papers and IPM team approvals and verify compliance with governance protocols
  • Escalate uncontrolled changes to the PMO Manager
  • Provide secretariat support for TG/TC meetings, including agendas, minutes, time management, and logistics
  • Follow up action points for capital investment projects, programmes, portfolios, and leadership meetings
  • Manage IPM calendars and schedule meetings
  • Maintain the PMO Forward Planner covering risks, issues, actions, decisions, inputs, and outputs
  • Coordinate and participate in relevant meetings and provide PMO information, advice, and support
  • Organise IPM team site visits and logistical arrangements
  • Support planning, management, and delivery of portfolio tasks and projects
  • Create, monitor, and close project spends on Fusion
  • Support timely capture of lessons learned
  • Ensure expenditure commitments and payments are properly authorised, controlled, and monitored

Requirements

  • Confident leader able to inspire and guide the PMO coordination team
  • Ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to promote best practice and continuously improve processes
  • Highly motivated, passionate, proactive, and innovative
  • Ability to work with Investment Estimating, Investment Portfolio, Investment Risk & Planning, Programme Management, finance, and commercial functions
  • Ability to follow established governance protocols
  • Ability to monitor and control project changes
  • Accurate minute-taking and meeting coordination
  • Ability to manage calendars, scheduling, forward planning, risks, issues, actions, and decisions
  • Ability to support project and programme delivery
  • Experience or ability to use Fusion as a project-spend super user
  • Ability to capture lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ability to ensure expenditure commitments and payments are authorised, controlled, and monitored according to procedures
