About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the daily operations of the Quality Assurance department
  • Gather and analyze business-unit data and prepare reports summarizing activities and trends
  • Assist with strategic and tactical operational plans to achieve company and departmental goals
  • Independently review problems, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions
  • Review processes and procedures to streamline activities and improve service turnaround time, productivity, and quality
  • Coordinate business-unit workflow and ensure effective use of corporate resources
  • Direct the quality assurance program for operations business units to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Monitor program performance and compile, analyze, and publish quality-performance statistics
  • Analyze trends and coordinate corrective actions to improve quality
  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvements across the organization
  • Establish communication channels for quality-related information
  • Coordinate training efforts, identify staff training needs, and schedule training with the training department
  • Project staffing requirements and guide staff in coaching and counseling employees
  • Coordinate employee development and incentive initiatives
  • Direct quality-specific training program design and implementation
  • Monitor and control operating expenses and prepare the annual business-unit budget
  • Analyze business technology requirements and recommend viable technology solutions
  • Lead assigned projects and evaluate project cost, benefits, and feasibility
  • Provide consultative services to internal customers developing quality assessment programs
  • Conduct assessments to determine audit methodology, attribute design, reporting frequency, and key performance indicators
  • Direct business analysts on population locations, sampling requirements, audit data capture, and reporting formats/cadence
  • Implement testing protocols and provide detailed analysis of baseline audit findings
  • Ensure actionable recommendations are provided in response to audit findings
  • Assess existing quality programs and evaluate attributes and data-capture tools
  • Revise recommendations in consultation with business-unit management, Internal Audit, Organizational Risk Management, and other relevant parties
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six to eight years of professional job-related work experience
  • Broad knowledge of quality concepts, including Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, and ISO
  • Broad knowledge of managerial operating principles and methodologies applicable to division and client relationship management
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and industry publication requirements related to the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of budgeting and expense control
  • Knowledge of employee relations
  • Strong personal computer skills with proficiency in Windows-based software
  • Ability to communicate ideas in technical and user-friendly language
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and knowledge of complex business analysis
  • Strong project planning and management skills
  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and internal and external business contacts
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
  • Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt Certification, American Society for Quality – Quality Manager Certification, etc. preferred
  • Travel equal to or less than 10%
