About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, deploy, test, certify, patch, and troubleshoot network features, components, interoperability, and application dependencies across data center environments
  • Design, implement, and support networking infrastructure within and between data centers
  • Serve as an advanced subject matter expert for data center network environments
  • Create and maintain LAN, WAN, VLAN, SDN, firewall, load balancer, bare-metal, virtual machine, and private cloud infrastructure
  • Provision and configure networking for servers, applications, and cloud services
  • Evaluate, improve, and maintain information security across data center network infrastructure
  • Monitor, diagnose, and correct network issues; develop recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks
  • Provide real-time alerts and proactive remediation, including redesigns and technology refreshes
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools for network components
  • Ensure network availability, performance, redundancy, and resilience
  • Monitor and test application performance and collaborate with developers on solutions
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Develop automation scripts for operational efficiency, including automated address and VLAN provisioning for IaaS
  • Participate in designing information and operational support systems
  • Provide final-tier support for complex network issues
  • Liaise with vendors and IT personnel on troubleshooting, upgrades, and solution design
  • Generate dashboards and reports on network performance, availability, trends, and resource utilization
  • Maintain technical documentation, including inventory, patch levels, configurations, access controls, and credentials
  • Transition knowledge to government staff through training and best-practice guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, with one year of experience substitutable for each year of education
  • Six or more years of experience / six years of relevant experience
  • Active and current Top-Secret clearance required
  • Ability to pass and maintain a CI Polygraph during employment
  • Cisco CCNA passed within six months of start date
  • Strong preference for experience in Cisco ACI, NSO, and other advanced Cisco data center technologies
  • CCNP or DevNet Associate certificate preferred
  • Multi-Site Orchestrator (MSO) experience preferred
  • Network Assurance Engine (NAE) experience preferred
  • Nexus Insights experience preferred
  • Digital Network Architecture Center (DNAC) experience preferred
